Templates Published with an Expiration Date give Error Message

Problem

Templates published with an expiration date set for component files give an 'Error reading the file' error message when:

  1. Answer entry date detection is set to 'Day Month Year'
  2. The date portion of the expiration date is greater than 12

Solution

To solve this problem, the entry date detection format must be changed and the templates republished.

To change the entry date detection and republish the template

  1. In HotDocs, go to Options > Interviews and Dialogs and set the answer entry date detection to Month, Day, Year.
  2. Select the template in you library you wish to publish and select Tool > Publishing Wizard.
  3. Publish the template as a standard template file, HDA, or HDI. Set the expiration date for the component file as usual.
